MARK has over 30 years’ experience as a strategic advisor and principal investor in both public and private, equity, and debt capital markets. His work has spanned the globe and several enterprises, ranging from venture capital to leveraged buyouts, real estate, and infrastructure – across the transportation, telecommunications, social, and power & renewable energy subsectors. Mark is Chair of the Investment Committee of the Swiss pension-backed IST3 Global Infrastructure Fund, and is a Senior Advisor to Star Mountain Capital, a lower middle-market asset management business in the US.
From 2005 to 2014, Mark was at JPMorgan Asset Management in New York City, where—as Global CIO and CEO—he established and led their $10 billion Infrastructure Investments platform. From 2000 to 2003, Mark was Head of Private Market Investments at the CPP Investment Board in Toronto, where he was responsible for development and implementation of Private Equity, Real Estate, and Infrastructure investment strategies, then totaling $7 billion (including membership on the board and chairing the audit committee of OMERS’ Borealis Infrastructure program).
Prior to 2000, Mark held senior investment banking and executive management roles in Toronto, at HSBC Securities Canada (Head of Investment Banking, and Deputy CEO), CIBC World Markets (Head of Diversified Industries), and Merrill Lynch Canada. Mark served on the Board of the Institutional Limited Partners Association (ILPA) and was founding Chairman of their Research, Benchmarking and Standards Committee. He is a CPA, CA, CFA, and CBV (Chartered Business Valuator); and obtained his B COMM from the University of Toronto, where he is a past President of their Alumni Association. Mark has authored numerous publications, and has guest-lectured and taught courses at Columbia, Ohio State University and the University of Toronto.

A sampling of the experienced professionals who have worked with MWA since it was re-established in New York City in July 2014 follows. Prior to working with MWA in 2014 and 2015, Stephane Azoulay, currently with Evercore Partners, helped to establish and grow the Macquarie Group North American Infrastructure franchise. Johann Rayappu, now at Blackrock Infrastructure, worked at Macquarie Group for over 10 years, prior to joining MWA in 2014 and 2015. Emre Ersenkal, currently with Vientos Energy, an affiliate of Castlelake, LP, and previously with SunEdison and TerraForm Global, worked with MWA in 2016 and 2017. Juliet Wallace – with MWA from 2015 through February 2018, and currently with Sumitomo Americas – was previously with Denham Capital and several investment and project finance banks. Sarah Wu worked with Mark Weisdorf at JPMorgan, collaborated with MWA during 2019, and worked with MWA throughout 2020. Sarah was previously with China Construction America, JPMorgan Asset Management's Infrastructure Investments group, Credit Suisse Project Finance, and WSP Parsons Brinckerhoff.
